Georgia O'Keeffe, an American, is called the "Mother of Modernism." She was the first woman to have a solo exhibit at the Modern Museum of Art in NY. She lived from 1887-1986. The Georgia O'Keeffe Museum is in Santa Fe, NM, but there are 28 of her drawings and paintings in the National Gallery of Art in Washington D.C.
